Since its beginning in 1998, the Future Cents Program has successfully received and completed 18 Service Canada youth employment strategy contracts and we are now actively engaged in Contract 19. Each contract is host to about 10 youth, therefore; we have approximately 180 alumni thus far.
Future Cents has been housed in the Youth Around Prince Resource Center since its inception. We receive in-kind contribution of space funding and support from the Ministry of Children and Family Development. The Future Cents program has had a 90% success rate. The success of the past youth and their determination to better their own lives is the reason that you are here and the reason that the program is still in existence.
Since 1998, the youth of Future Cents have established and operated a number of innovative services. These services and projects change regularly depending on how long the youth stay in the program. In the beginning there was one office, one youth, and one staff; today in all our glory we are anywhere from ten to thirty youth strong with four staff and many offices. From all the hard work and dedication of those before you, we have become a leading youth services organization in this city and the province.
